Sessions
When you log into the one of the remote desktop servers for the first time, a session is created which provides you with a desktop environment. The desktop includes familiar concepts such as icons, a taskbar, and an applications menu. Any applications run within this desktop environment are running on the remote server and not on your local computer.
Disconnecting and reconnecting
If you close the remote desktop viewer without selecting Log out, the session will continue running on the remote desktop server. Reconnecting to the same remote desktop server will allow you to continue with your session where you left off. This allows you to leave applications running as well as reconnecting from a different machine / location. You are strongly advised to save any data in applications you leave running.
Sessions will be automatically disconnected after 10 minutes of inactivity.
If you choose the Log out option on the taskbar, this will close all applications and terminate your session.
Session expiration
A session is considered idle when it has remained disconnected for a period of 7 days. After this time, the session will be automatically terminated and any running applications will be closed. Any unsaved
